Origamii ~ ~ After Social Engagement

During Social Engagement, I could notice that a lot of people including children, their parents as well as us are quite interest in making origami. By using some folding techniques only, papers can be change into anythings that exist in the world.

Today, I would like to share what origami we had done during the SE.

All in all, I think I will link it to my Social Engagement time once I see whatever type of origami. We learn how to do origami together, then we teach the children... I hope this kind of art not only trigger my childhood memory, at the same that it had also create childhood memory for the children who join our programme at TTDI library.

Last, I would like to thank all the people that help us directly or indirectly to make our Social engagement a success. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Last Day of our Memorable Social Engagement

Its 10th of May today and its Mother's Day today ! However , its our last social engagement session in TTDI Library.

Everything we do today is all according to the theme Mother's Day ! ( I LOVE MUM )

As usual ,we touched down in the library for the last time today early in morning again . However , we're somehow early today since its our last time we would like to do a more and longer time for preparation. We are having a specialhandicraft session today which was the mat webbing session .

Once again  , we started of with the origami session . From my observations , kids really like origami session a lot. Seeing a lot of kids joining the session already makes me over the moon . However what makes me more overjoy each time was the participations of parents in our session . Today , with the theme Mothers Day , we teached the kids to fold a heart and also a house . A heart symbolized love and a house symbolized a home . We all love our home because love is everywhere in a home from father , mother  , brothers and sisters <3

In the evening , we conducted our special handicraft session which was the mat webbing session . Was very excited because the last time I did this handicraft was during my primary school days . Haha...

While we were webbing the handicraft , our piccaso Thomas drew a picture on the whiteboard . Everytime he start drawing , you can hear alot of "woah woah woah" scream from the kids ! Haha

Time passed in a blink of eye , without realizing its already 5pm and here comes to the end our 32 hours of social engagement . Before we left , we decorated the exhibition corner with the artwork of the children and also we took a picture with the person in charge of the library .

Well , its time to say goodbye now .It was kinda sad feeling for all of us as departure hurts . Sincerely from my heart , after engaging with these kids every weekend , it really brings me back a lot of my childhood memories . Especially what I used to use in the past , my parents reading story books , having colouring session and guiding beside me whatever i do . I'm missing home than never especially my beloved parents who showered infinite amount of love on me.

With that , here marks the ending of our social engagement of 32 hours with the community :)

with love , Tan Li Pin

A memorable day that I spent in TTIS Library..

It was a Saturday morning, a great day to kick start our new day with Social Engagement ! Woohoo…We arrived at 9.45am ,when we can see the crowd of excited kids waiting for the operation hour for the library at 10am. Their burning spirit made us felt welcome and we were ready for the day.

At 10am , we start our cleaning up session in the library . We help to clean the library in and out , clearing the rubbish and pack it to be throw, and clearing the dust in the store. We manage to settle it real fast due to our cooperation from my lovely teammates. We are just too busy clearing out the rubbish without taking photo.

At 12 pm, Finally! Our crazy time with the kids! 1st is the Origami session. Due to new target of kids , we taught them how to fold "sampan" and crane due to its creativeness and the kids just simply love it! As usual , the kids like our brother Lee CL for his funny appearance and the way he approach them. Ella and Tiera were so excited when they spent their time with the kids. They were really into it until we almost forgot the lunch break.

At 2 pm , is another session which has not been held before. We decided to decorate the table and sign board showing the masterpiece of children. Therefore the old ones could be replaced by the masterpieces produced by the children during our program. Between, it can be the memory we left to the library.

We found out all the things insides the box stored the masterpieces of children

Taking off the old ones...

Pasting the new ones

That’s all for today…can’t wait for the tomorrow Social engagement to come.
